At Cayla, activities take place all year round, evolving with the rhythm of the seasons. Currently, much of our focus is on maintaining and improving the space\u2014preparing it to host events, restoring the old buildings, and making it an ever more welcoming sanctuary.<\/p>\n

In autumn, the forest paths need clearing, the trees around the houses require trimming, and it’s also the perfect time for chestnut gathering.<\/p>\n

Beyond maintenance, we envision a wide range of regular activities:<\/p>\n

  • Guided hikes to observe birds and wildlife in the forest<\/li>\n
  • Workshops on identifying edible and medicinal plants<\/li>\n

    As part of our mission, we aspire to make Cayla a place of learning\u2014a space to rediscover ancestral knowledge and essential survival skills, strengthening our bond with nature.<\/p>\n

    The School of Present Time was founded by Guilhem Morera, who dedicated 20 years to studying and working alongside the apprentices of Carlos Castaneda.
    These practices weave together the practical and mystical wisdom of the Toltecs with the traditions of the Western world, creating an integrative approach to personal transformation and expanded awareness.<\/p>\n

    Shinrin Yoku<\/h2>\n

    Shinrin Yoku, also known as “forest bathing”, is the practice of immersing oneself in the atmosphere of the forest. It involves slow mindful walk and connecting with nature on a sensory level. Over 500 studies around the world have proven its benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
    Le Cayla, with its 22 ha of private forest, is the place where Shinrin Yoku practices are regularly organized by certified guides.<\/p>\n

    Max, trained in the Lakota tradition by medicine man Archie Lame Deer, has established a sacred ceremonial space at the center, where he guides Sweat Lodge ceremonies. With deep respect for the tradition, he shares the symbolism, sacred songs, and ancestral rites that accompany this Native American ritual of purification and renewal.<\/p>\n
